Ancak ona göre yasalar ya da adetler, uzlaşım bunu kabul etmemektedir. “Doğada benzer benzerin akrabasıdır. Ama insanların Tyranos’u olan yasa, doğayı bile zoru altında tutmak ister.” Hippias, yasa ve adetlerin aslında doğaya aykırı olduklarını eğer iyi iseler insanlar için faydalı olduklarını öne sürmüştür.
